Christians all over the world refer to Jesus Christ by many revered and holy names, but those who knew Him the best (meaning the disciples) called Him “teacher.” Of the ninety or so times that Jesus was addressed directly in the New Testament, about sixty of those instances show the Lord being called, “teacher,” “rabbi,” “great one,” or “master.” Throughout the Gospels (of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John), the majority of ministry activity Jesus did was…teaching.
